Spitting should be outlawed
Being a female, I can say I have never in my life spit on the ground. However, I see nearly every day, some guy spitting on the ground somewhere. Why is this necessary? It's a filthy habit and I believe it used to be against the law (in the time of cholera or consumption or possibly both). Is it still against the law? if it's not, it should be. Spitters should get a big fat ticket. Gross.

Recent controversy abounds over Washington's refusal to release photos or footage of a dead Bin Laden. The official reason is to avoid inciting any further anger or attacks from his supporters, and to deny them ammunition in their campaign against the US. Should we ban plastic bags?
They are everywhere - in trees, clogging our sewers and littering the roadside. Many consider plastic bags an environmental disaster in the making. Others (shop owners cheif among them) worry such a ban would harm their bottom line.
The city of Evanston, Illinois and the European Union are onsidering such a ban.
